AS9100 was developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). In the US and Canada, this standard is published under the authority of SAE International.

Although initially designed for the aviation, aerospace & defense sectors, AS9100 can also be relevant to other industries that require a quality management system with more extensive demands than the ISO 9001 system standard.
Rev D stands for the AS9100 Revision D standard; it is the latest revision of the standard, released in 2016.
First, you’ll have to implement the standard requirements; then, you should set up your Quality Management System (QMS) for the certification audit, during which auditors will review your QMS and documentation.
