Key insights from our recent continuous improvement webinar
We recently held a webinar titled "Optimizing EHS Performance: Integrating Three Lines of Defense for Continuous Improvement." This discussion highlighted the importance of aligning the three lines of defense to enhance Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) systems within organizations. As we navigate the changing landscape of EHS management, it’s crucial to consider how these integrations can improve compliance and drive operational excellence. How are organizations adapting to these frameworks, and what can we learn from their experiences? By addressing these questions, we foster a deeper understanding and greater innovation in EHS performance.
Expert insights on technology and human element
Paul Blundell, Client Services Director at Ideagen, and Luke Shirley, Lead Product and Services Manager, welcomed Dr. Christopher Davis, Thought Leadership Manager at IOSH, as they shared their expertise on the challenges and opportunities that technology and digitalization bring to the occupational safety and health sector. They emphasized the importance of the human element in effectively adopting and implementing these technologies.
Case studies overview
The webinar presented two fascinating case studies. Study 'A' highlighted the challenges of over-reliance on EHS professionals, leading to significant roadblocks in risk management. Meanwhile, study 'B' championed successful implementation by defining clear roles and responsibilities within an organization. This emphasized the importance of the three lines of defense framework in structuring the implementation and adoption process.
Key findings and statistics
Findings from our webinar highlighted that 36% of companies have partly implemented EHS management systems, followed by a close 35% that have fully implemented these systems. It's intriguing to realize that a significant number of organizations are aware and are progressively harnessing EHS systems effectively for optimal improvements.
